Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why it's collected, how it's used and stored, and the rights you have over it. It applies to Sunny Guha's personal portfolio website.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who this policy is from
This site is the personal portfolio of Sunny Guha, an independent paid-media strategist and AI-native developer. For the purposes of data-protection law, Sunny Guha is the data controller responsible for the personal information described here. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact guha.sunstar@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us. Specifically:
Lead / enquiry forms
When you submit a contact, hire or enquiry form, we collect the details you enter, which may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Company or organisation
- Your area of interest or the service you need
- Budget, salary expectations or engagement size
- Your message and any other details you provide
Booking requests
When you request a call through the booking page, we collect your name, email, phone number, and your preferred date, time and time zone, along with any notes you add about the call.
Technical & usage data
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand how it's used.
3. Why we use your data, and our lawful basis
We use the information above only for legitimate, clearly-defined purposes:
- To respond to you — replying to enquiries, discussing roles or projects, and arranging calls. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering an arrangement, and our legitimate interest in responding to genuine enquiries.
- To send automated confirmations and follow-ups — for example, acknowledging a submitted form or confirming a booked call. Lawful basis: legitimate interest and, where applicable, your consent.
- To operate and improve the site — security, troubleshooting and understanding aggregate usage. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for unrelated purposes.
4. How your data is stored and sent
When you submit a form, your details are stored server-side in our own database so we can manage and reply to your enquiry. Submitting a form also triggers automated transactional emails (for example, a confirmation to you and a notification to us) sent through our email provider, Resend.
5. Cookies & analytics
This site uses only the cookies needed to function, plus optional analytics. We may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) to understand aggregate, anonymised usage — which pages are visited and how visitors find the site. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the site.
6. Third parties we share data with
We keep the number of third parties to a minimum, and each only processes data on our behalf to run the service:
- Resend — our email provider, used to send automated confirmation and notification emails.
- Vercel — our hosting and infrastructure provider, where the site and its data are served from.
- Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — for aggregate, privacy-respecting usage analytics, where enabled.
We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required to do so by law.
7. Data retention
We keep enquiry and booking data only for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain a record of our correspondence — and no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time (see below).
8. International transfers
Sunny Guha is based in India, and our providers (such as Resend, Vercel and Google) may process data on servers located in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where your data is transferred internationally, we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — to protect it in line with applicable data-protection law.
9. Your rights
Wherever you are, and in particular if you are in the EU/UK under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("the right to be forgotten").
- Restriction & objection — ask us to limit or stop certain processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
10. How to request access or deletion
To exercise any of the rights above — including having your data deleted — simply email guha.sunstar@gmail.com from the address you used, and tell us what you'd like. We'll verify the request and action it within a reasonable time, and in any event within the period required by applicable law.
11. Children's data
This site and its services are intended for professionals and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we collect in the first place.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
