Serving Kuwait remotely

Website designer in Kuwait

Many Kuwaiti brands began as an Instagram shop, and the next step is a website that takes orders without a direct message. I design and build such sites remotely from India, 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Kuwait, with Arabic and English pages, KNET checkout through a supporting gateway, a WhatsApp order button and tracking that ties each sale to the post or story that drove it.

Based in India and working remotely: no office in Kuwait, and video calls at times that suit you. Kuwait is on UTC+3 all year with no daylight saving, and India is on UTC+5:30, so Kuwait is 2 hours 30 minutes behind. The Kuwaiti working week is Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend, so most Kuwaiti working hours overlap with mine, and Friday and Saturday are the Kuwaiti weekend.

Website design and development for Kuwait businesses

The usual starting point in Kuwait is a busy Instagram account with orders arriving in messages and copied into a spreadsheet by hand. A website replaces that with product pages that mirror the feed, stock counts, a basket and an order confirmation that goes both to the buyer and to your team. I keep the Instagram habit alive: product pages are easy to share as a story link, the link in your bio opens a mobile page that loads in seconds, and the Instagram and Snapchat pixels report purchases. Gifting and fashion brands also get delivery-slot choice and order notes, such as a message card or gift wrap, added as simple fields.

KNET is the local debit-card network, so a Kuwaiti store should offer it through a payment gateway that supports it, beside Apple Pay, cards and cash on delivery. Prices appear in dinars with three decimal places, which many international templates round incorrectly, so I set the currency format deliberately. Addresses in Kuwait are written by area, block, street and building rather than by postcode, so the checkout uses those fields, plus a phone number the courier can reach. Restaurants and cafes get a direct-ordering page that sits beside the delivery apps, and clinics get appointment booking in Arabic and English.

CITRA issued a data privacy regulation for service providers in 2021, so forms state plainly what is collected and why. Kuwait has not introduced the value-added tax that other Gulf states apply, and your accountant should confirm the current position before invoices are set. Contractors and suppliers serving oil and industrial buyers need a company profile, capability pages, certificates and a tender-enquiry form. I work remotely from India and have no office in Kuwait: 10:00 in Kuwait City is 12:30 for me, the week runs Sunday to Thursday, and launches avoid Ramadan, Eid and the National Day weeks in February unless you want a campaign for them.

How projects there are usually paid
Kuwaiti businesses and shoppers commonly pay by bank transfer, KNET debit card, Apple Pay or cash on delivery, and the dinar is quoted to three decimal places. Contracts with overseas suppliers are normally agreed in writing before work starts. Local currency: KWD.

Rules that apply
Kuwait's communications regulator, CITRA, issued a Data Privacy Protection Regulation in 2021 for service providers, so sites that collect enquiries should state plainly what personal data is collected and why.

Website designer in Kuwait: questions

Yes. Your account stays as it is, and the website adds shareable product links, a link in your bio, a basket and order records, so followers can buy without sending a message.

KNET works through a payment gateway that supports it, so I connect one beside Apple Pay, cards and cash on delivery. You sign the gateway agreement yourself as the business owner.

Kuwait has not introduced the VAT that other Gulf states apply, but rules can change, so I show prices as you decide and ask your accountant to confirm the current position.

I ask a native speaker on your side to approve the Arabic before launch, because Gulf-dialect wording and spelling matter and a literal translation often reads as stiff or unnatural.

A focused business website of five to ten pages usually takes three to five weeks from the signed brief, depending on how quickly content and feedback arrive. A custom application or a large catalogue takes longer, and I give a schedule with the quote.

Either. I use Next.js for speed and control, and WordPress or Shopify when you need an editor your team already knows or a store with ready-made features. I recommend the one that fits your content, budget and plans, and explain why.

I can connect a payment gateway that supports KNET and cards, and then count each completed order as a conversion in your ad accounts. The gateway contract itself is between you and the provider.
