One owner for paid media, instead of five hands on one account

Most companies that call me already have ads running. What they lack is a single person who is accountable for the whole chain: which channels get budget, what counts as a conversion, whether the numbers in the ad platform match the numbers in the CRM, why the landing page converts the way it does, and what to tell the board on the first Monday of the month. When an agency handles the ads, a freelancer builds the pages, a developer owns the tags and the founder reads the reports, nobody is responsible for the result and the gaps between them are where money disappears.

I take that gap. My current title is Sr. Performance Marketing Analyst and Paid Media Specialist, and I have spent twelve years inside ad accounts, with $400K+ in monthly ad spend managed across Google and Meta and work for more than 500 brands. The role is closer to a head of paid media than to a button-pusher: I set the plan, run or supervise the execution, check the data and answer for the outcome in plain words.

Strategy first: channels, budgets and the numbers that matter

Strategy for me begins with unit economics, not platforms. What is a lead worth after your sales team has spoken to it, what does a first order return after returns and discounts, how long is the sales cycle, and how much can you afford to pay to acquire a customer before the business stops making sense? With those numbers on paper, the channel mix becomes a series of testable decisions. Search captures demand that already exists. Meta and YouTube create demand and feed remarketing. Microsoft Ads is often a cheaper extension of search for older, desktop-heavy audiences. Each earns budget by evidence, not by habit.

I write the plan as a short document you can read in ten minutes: the goal, the target cost per lead or return on ad spend, the starting split across channels, the tests I will run in the first ninety days and what would make me stop a test early. Budgets are reviewed against actual outcomes, and I would rather move money away from a channel I set up than defend it.

  • Target cost per lead, per sale and per qualified opportunity, set from your margins
  • Channel roles: capture, create, retarget and retain
  • A test calendar with a clear hypothesis for each experiment
  • Stop and scale rules written before the money is spent

Measurement: the part that decides whether the rest can be trusted

A performance marketer who cannot trust the data is guessing with a bigger budget. I treat measurement as engineering. I set up and audit Google Tag Manager, GA4 events, Google Ads enhanced conversions, the Meta Pixel with the Conversions API and event deduplication, CallRail call tracking, and offline conversion imports from the CRM, so the platforms learn from real customers rather than form fills alone. Server-side tracking enters when browser signals are too thin, and consent handling is built in for markets where it is required.

I am also a software engineer by training, with an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, so I read tag firing, data layers and API payloads myself instead of waiting for a ticket to come back. That shortens the loop from finding a tracking fault to fixing it. When the platforms disagree with each other, I reconcile them against a source of truth, usually the CRM or the shop's order table, and I tell you which number to believe and why.

Conversion rate work sits inside the same brief

Traffic cost is only half of cost per lead. The other half is what happens after the click, so landing pages, forms, booking flows and follow-up speed belong in the same scope as bidding. I have built more than 100 landing pages and have used funnel and page changes to bring cost per lead down by up to 40 percent for clients. In practice that means testing one thing at a time: the offer, the headline, the length of the form, the position of the phone number, the speed of the page on a mobile connection, and the wording of the first message a new lead receives.

Because I can build pages and small tools myself, a recommendation does not have to wait in a queue. If your team has its own developers and designers, I write specific, prioritised changes and review the result. If it does not, I can ship the change and measure it.

Taking over accounts, teams and escalations

A large part of my recent work has been inheriting difficult situations. At Growth99 I owned premium high-budget accounts and escalations, took over campaigns that had drifted, rebuilt their structure and tracking, worked directly with Google support on account issues and led day-to-day coordination between paid media, development, design and sales as an unofficial small-team lead. I was named a Best Performer six times in the company's monthly townhall. Peak returns on healthcare and IVF accounts reached 22 to 30 times ad spend, and averages on healthcare accounts were 9.4 times; those are results from specific accounts in specific sectors, not a forecast for yours.

If you are hiring a paid media lead, I can also help with the surrounding work that a new hire would need: an audit of what exists, a documented account structure, a naming convention, a reporting template, a checklist for launching a campaign, and a plain handover so the next person can understand the account in an afternoon.

Reporting that a founder or a board can read

Reports from me are short and tied to decisions. A weekly note says what changed, what I learned and what I will do next. A monthly review covers spend, leads, qualified leads, sales, cost per outcome, return on ad spend where revenue is tracked, and a frank line on what did not work. I avoid dashboards of impressions and click-through rates unless they explain something, and I will show the raw platform numbers alongside the reconciled ones so you can see where they differ.

You own every account: the ad platforms, Tag Manager, GA4 and the reporting files. I join as a manager or a team member, which means that if we stop working together you keep the history, the audiences and the learning. I do not hold your campaigns in accounts of my own.

How we can work together, and where I am not the right fit

I am open to a full-time senior role with a ninety-day notice period, and I can start sooner on contract, project, part-time or hourly work. Many clients begin with a free thirty-minute audit of the account, the funnel or the brief, which is yours to keep whether or not we work together. I work remotely from India, hold overlapping hours with teams in the USA and UK and schedule calls around any time zone, and I have run campaigns for clients in the USA, UK, UAE, Australia and India.

I am not the right fit if you want a promise of a specific return, a price quoted before anyone has seen your numbers, or someone to run a single channel with no access to the tracking and the landing page. I will also tell you plainly when a problem is not an advertising problem, for example a weak offer, slow lead follow-up or a product that does not yet suit the market. Fixing those usually makes ads cheaper than any bid change would.

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Read-only audit

I review accounts, tracking, landing pages and reporting without changing anything and list what is leaking money and what is working.

  2. 02

    Define the economics

We agree what a lead, a sale and a customer are worth, the cost you can bear and the one or two numbers that will define success.

  3. 03

    Repair measurement

Tag Manager, GA4, platform conversions, call tracking and CRM feedback are corrected and tested before budgets move.

  4. 04

    Write the plan

A ten-minute document sets channel roles, starting budgets, the first ninety days of tests and the rules for stopping or scaling.

  5. 05

    Run and improve

I run or supervise campaigns, pages and follow-up, changing one variable at a time and logging each decision.

  6. 06

    Report and hand over

A weekly note, a monthly review and clear documentation so your team or the next hire can take over at any point.

Questions about performance marketing consulting

A Google Ads freelancer usually runs one platform. A performance marketing consultant owns the wider outcome: channel mix, tracking, landing page and follow-up performance, and reporting across platforms, so the decisions fit together.

Yes. I am open to full-time senior roles with a ninety-day notice period, and I can start sooner on contract, project, part-time or hourly work. Many people start with a short paid project and decide afterwards.

Yes. I regularly work next to agencies, developers and designers. I can audit the agency's work fairly, set the measurement they report against and coordinate changes, or take over the accounts entirely if you prefer.

The ones that connect to money: leads, qualified leads, sales, cost per outcome and return on ad spend where revenue is tracked. I also show where platform numbers and CRM numbers differ, and which one I trust.

No, nobody can honestly promise that in a live auction. I can show results on comparable accounts, set targets from your own data and report openly against them, including when a test fails.

I do both. I set up Tag Manager, GA4, the Meta Conversions API and call tracking myself, and I build and test landing pages, because slow or unreliable measurement and weak pages cost as much as bad bidding.

Yes. Ad accounts, Tag Manager, GA4 and the reports stay in your name from the first day. I am added as a manager or team member, so a handover to someone else is simple.

I work remotely from India and keep overlapping hours with teams in the USA and UK, with calls scheduled around your day. I have run campaigns for clients in the USA, UK, UAE, Australia and India, and I send written updates between calls.
